This time of year is often associated with greeting cards and chocolate, but the team at Raizlabs – a national app development company with offices in Boston and Oakland – shares their favorite digital tools.

Usability

Usability of products is something our team is constantly assessing.

UserOnboard

Check out reviews of a user’s onboarding process across several different apps. Not only are these teardowns entertaining, but they give good insight into usability best practices.

UserTesting

We practice what we preach. While we stay on top of usability best practices, we’re constantly testing to ensure our users have an intuitive experience. UserTesting, a Raizlabs client and partner, allows us to connect with people in our target user audience and get an honest reaction to the products we’ve built and learn how we can improve.

Design

Our design and development teams walk hand in hand. Our favorite tools allow us to work together from concept to implementation of intuitive products with seamless user experiences.

Sketch

Whether we’re working on web or mobile projects, Sketch is our design team’s go-to tool for creation of everything from wireframes to visual design. It allows for a seamless workflow that can be used in tandem with the work of the development team.

InVision

After creation comes critique. For us, InVision provides a great arena for team members to review work that’s been done and critique on what improvements should be made. Team feedback allows us to sync up on our overall goals and remain on track.

Organization

Building great products on time requires a lot of focus and structure. We stay organized.

Basecamp

When building a product, there are many assets and moving parts to be considered. Basecamp allows our team to share updates with not only each other, but also our clients. Being transparent and keeping all stakeholders updated is key to success.

JIRA

Our favorite tool internally, JIRA helps hold us accountable to an Agile methodology. We’re able to assess each person’s timeline for a project and how we need to adjust accordingly. It’s one of the many tools used to ensure that we deliver products on time.

News

Staying updated on trends in the industry helps us remain competitive and the best resource for clients.

Launch Ticker

This reports short and sweet aggregated news that helps us stay updated on everything from investments and new product launches to new industry trends.

AppStoreReviewGuidelinesHistory

Did you know that the AppStore guidelines change all the time? We use this tool to help us stay on our toes and make sure that the products we build and their features are up-to-date.

If you’re looking for a news destination for all things tech, TechCrunch has you covered. Covering everything from emerging tech to venture capital, we love reading TechCrunch to learn where markets are leaning and how we can help our clients maintain a competitive edge.

MIT Technology Review

Founded at MIT way back in 1899, the MIT Technology Review is a go-to source for serious journalism surrounding tech. Because of its reach, reading news here keeps us connected to the global tech community.
